“South Africa’s decision to lodge a complaint against the crimes of the Zionist regime is a historical, enduring and admirable move and the Islamic Republic of Iran supports this smart and wise effort,” Raisi said on Sunday in a meeting where he received letter of credence of South Africa’s new ambassador to Iran Francis Moloi.
The Iranian president also said in the meeting that Iran and South Africa will benefit from an expansion of bilateral cooperation.
For his part, Moloi described relations between South Africa and Iran as distinctive and ideal while expressing hope that he could take constructive steps on the path to expand ties between the two countries.
The Hague-based ICJ began hearings on South Africa’s genocide case against the Israeli regime on January 11.
